Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 July 2026

HomeHelp BG (“we”, “us”) operates a marketplace connecting customers with home-help providers in Bulgaria. This policy explains what personal data we process and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Bulgarian data-protection law. We are the data controller for the data described here.

Data we collect

  • Customers: name, email, phone, contact preference, and the details of your request (service, city/district, date/time, notes). No full home address is required.
  • Providers: account details, profile (services, districts, rate, languages, bio, photo), and verification documents you upload (ID, references, and — for childcare — a criminal-record certificate).
  • Technical: a session cookie to keep you logged in, and limited request metadata (e.g. IP) used only for security and rate limiting.

Why we process it (lawful basis)

  • To provide the service and match customers with providers (performance of a contract / your request).
  • To verify and approve providers, and keep the platform safe (legitimate interests).
  • To send service messages about your request, match, or account (contract / consent).
  • Provider verification documents are processed on the basis of your explicit consent.

Provider documents

Verification documents are never shown publicly. They are stored with restricted access and are viewable only by authorised reviewers (and the provider who uploaded them). We retain them only while your provider profile is active and for a limited period afterwards, then delete them. You may request deletion at any time.

Sharing

When a match is confirmed, we share the necessary contact details between the matched customer and provider so the service can go ahead. We do not sell your data. We use a small number of processors (hosting, email delivery) under appropriate agreements.

Retention

We keep account and request data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, then for a limited period to meet legal obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Verification documents are deleted sooner, as described above.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your data, and to data portability. You may also lodge a complaint with the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection (CPDP). To exercise any right, contact us at [email protected].

This policy is provided for transparency and will be finalised with the registered legal entity details before public launch.
